There are times that are infinitely difficult and breath-taking to understand. Times when the giving sea appears a bully and real life seems like flimsy driftwood, being battered at the hands of steady rocks.
It is in these times that I am confronted by how infinitesimal I am in the grand scheme. It is in these times that I realize how paltry my sense of control actually is. It is in these times I realize that the most dignified thing I can do is to laugh through my tears. It is in these times, that the strongest statement I can make is,
“I have absolutely no idea what is going on. But I am trusting that you do, Lord.”
It is in these times that history is made.
